Original 1850s Native American Indian Prints "Reports of Explorations and Surveys to Ascertain the Most Practicable and Economical Route for a Railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean." Below is our inventory of Indian prints from the famous 1850s U. S. government survey headed by Secretary of War Jefferson Davis to determine the best route for the first transcontinental railway. The railroad was not completed until 1867 because of political conflicts, including the Civil War, which Davis played a major role in as President of the Confederate States of America. With the exception of the first one shown below they are all color lithographs and they are all matted to a standard frame size of 11 x 14 inches so you do not have to get an expensive custom frame to properly display these prints. Click on the pictures or titles below to get more information on each of these prints. The Romantic Vision of Indian With Spectacular View The Tribes of Mojaves, Navajos and Zunis
