Mottled Grass Plover

This work of artistry is the Mottled Grass Plover or actidurus naevius.. In the margin of the print it says "U.S.P.R.R. Exp. & Surveys --- 32nd Parallel (West)" and "Birds. --- Plate VI."

An extensive description of this species is attached to the back of the backing mat included with this print and it states that it was first observed on the 32 parallel survey while "riding on the prairies near San Antonio," Texas.
