1905 Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Inauguration Portrait Ribbon Badge
Enclosed in Vintage Box
This wonderful vintage inauguration souvenir is a portrait ribbon badge from the March 4, 1905 Inauguration of Theodore Roosevelt as President of the United States. It gives the date and place of the inauguration, which was relevant in Roosevelt's case because his first inauguration was a hurried swearing in after the assassination of President William McKinley in Buffalo, New York in 1901.
The portrait paper shows some foxing (the brownish spots cause by moisture) which probably could be remedied with conservation treatment, but it still is a wonderful authentic memento of the vigorous presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. There are very few of these still in existence.
